Desiring Jesus: Display His Presence to Others! (Prayer Journal 230)

Father, in Jesus' name, I need You! Increase and intensify my desire to please You and to do Your will. May my greatest desire be to know Christ. Unless You fill me with Your Spirit and empower me, I am utterly incapable of loving You, living for You and preaching Jesus. Help me to depend upon You completely and grow me in confidence because You are with me.

Often, I am tired and unmotivated to do much of anything. Grant me rest for my body and energize me by Your Spirit to do all that You have called me to in partnering with You. You are the source of my strength and the strength of my life. Strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit, grant me wisdom, and show me what You want me to do.

I recognize that it is both too hard and utterly impossible for me to carry Your presence to others apart from You. Yet there is nothing too hard or impossible for You. With You all things are possible. So, I ask that Your presence would go before me. Prepare people for an encounter with Your presence and Your Word through my life. Take out stony hearts and make them hearts of flesh ready to receive Your Word that a harvest of righteousness may spring forth. Make me a consecrated vessel sent among them by You as You do great and mighty things in our midst.

Lord Jesus You must increase, and I must decrease. Manifest Your presence, pour out Your Spirit, speak Your Words, and reveal Yourself through my life and lips. Live Your resurrected life through me with power and great glory. Hear through my ears, see through my eyes, think through my mind, speak through my lips, love and obey through my heart, minister through my hands, and lead me through these legs set on beautiful feet as You use me to preach the Gospel.

Jesus, I pray that You'd bind the evil one and nullify his attacks loosed against Your followers. Loose Your Spirit and bring destruction to his works. Anoint and send us to the multitudes that do not know You. Help us to wield the powerful weapons of warfare that You give us. May we use them to demolish demonic strongholds, cast down thoughts that exalt themselves above Your Word, and bring every thought captive to obey you.

Minister Your forgiveness, grace, healing, hope, restoration, and salvation to the multitudes that are broken, hurting, and lost. Cause our eyes to weep and hearts to break with what causes Your eyes to weep and heart to break. Move us to love righteousness and hate wickedness. Cause Your light to shine bright in the gross darkness of this world. May we truly be Your salt in the earth and light of the world. Amen!
