Living for the Holy One: Embracing God's Faithfulness and Eternity (Prayer Journal 214)

Holy Father, in Jesus' name, thank You again for Your faithfulness to fulfill Your purpose and to keep Your promises. I praise You for You are the holy One seated on Your throne and the whole earth is filled with Your glory. Thank You Lord Jesus that You are the light shining in the darkness and the darkness is not able to overcome You. You overcame the darkness. You were manifested to destroy the works of the devil. Because of Your death on the cross and resurrection from the dead, the war is already won and the devil is already defeated.

Jesus there is a day coming when You will return and all evil will be completely done away with. You will bring about a new creation. That is what we, Your followers, long for. May we be a people ready for Your return at any moment as we live holy lives bearing witness for You by the power of the Holy Spirit. Help Us to live these lives that You've given us in light of eternity and not in reaction or response to the temporary affairs, cares, concerns, material possessions, and values of this fallen world that are fading away.

God, help us to give our lives away to You, withholding nothing. Our lives are not our own but they belong to You. For You purchased us with the precious blood of Your Son Jesus. May we be worshipers of You only loving You with everything that we are. May You and You only have the preeminence, priority, and first place in our lives. Bring us to the place where we daily surrender to the Lord Jesus so that His resurrected life is on display in the world through us.

Bring us to the place of complete submission to Your will regarding the ways that You have purposed to use us to proclaim the hope of Jesus in this broken and fallen world. Forgive us for complaining when Your will is too hard, not what we want, and the opposition of the enemy seems too great. Remind us that nothing is too hard or impossible for You, it is all for Your glory, and the enemy's opposition testifies that You are at work in and through us. Bring us the place of greater dependence on You that leads to a greater confidence in You doing to, in, and through us what only You can do. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
