God, You Will Keep Me for Eternity Even as You Use Me Now! (Prayer Journal 199)

Father, great is Your faithfulness to me. In the midst of the hard things in my life and the uncertainties in this world, help me to trust You, to be ever mindful that You love me, and that You have not forgotten me. I believe that You have been pruning and preparing me for even more fruitful labor in Your harvest fields. Thank You for holding on to me and never letting me go. I have wanted to quit, to turn around, and my hands have let go. I praise You for You are the One who keeps me from utterly falling and will present me before Your glorious presence without fault and with exceeding joy.

God, I am so grateful that You keep Your promises and that You are not dependent on me to bring Your plan and purpose to pass. You will fulfill Your purpose in the earth and in my life. What blows my mind is that You desire to use me in this generation to play a part in bringing about Your eternal purpose. Help me to let go of every plan that I have that is not aligned with Your plan. Bring me into alignment with Your plan and give me a heart that desires to do Your will above all else. For there are many plans in my heart but it is Your purpose that will prevail (Proverbs 19:21).

Could it be through the difficulties, disappointments, hardships, hiddenness, and being forgotten by people that You've been preparing me for a strategic place in Your Kingdom agenda for a time such as this? Like Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers, lied on, put in prison, and forgotten for two years by one he helped because it was not time, and he was not yet ready. But when it was time for the fulfillment of Your Word, You gave Pharoah a dream and the forgotten man was brought out of prison. Not just for his personal freedom but to represent You in a pagan nation and for the preservation of his family, that would become the nation of Israel, through whom would come the Savior of the world, Jesus. Do what You must to make me a man whose life ultimately points others to Him.

I avail myself to You for the unique assignment that You have for me to play in the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations. Yet I ask that You'd posture my heart to seek Your face, O God of Jacob, and not what You have for me in Your hands. Grow me in intimate fellowship with You above all else. May You have the preeminence, priority, and first place only in my heart and life. No matter how I feel or what it looks like You have not forgotten me. Neither have You abandoned Your plans to use my life to glorify Your name and build Your Kingdom. Faithful are You who called me who will also do it. Do not let me be sidetracked or distracted from You and Your mission. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
