Father, in Jesus' name, I need You to revive me again. I am drifting aimlessly in this world. I have not been intentional in pursuing and loving You with all that I am and all that I have. I have not been intentional in loving those in the household of faith or bearing witness for Christ to those who are dead in their sins.
God, You are going to have to help me to care because, if I am honest, most of the time I do not. I have been so selfish, self-centered, self-consumed, and self-focused that my thoughts so rarely go to You and what is on Your heart. I should be broken over the lukewarm state of my heart, the Church, and also regarding the multitudes that are separated and alienated from You because of their sin. Yet I am not. Break my heart!
I rarely talk to people about who You are and what You've done for us by sending Jesus from heaven to earth*. You have not given me the spirit of fear. Yet, I have been afraid and even tentative to share Jesus with others. That should not be. That is sin. I confess it and ask that You help me to repent. Cause Your Word to be like fire caught up in my bones that I cannot help but speak of who You are and what You have done. Break me from living in fear and from caring what others think of me. Bring me to the place where I fear You and all that I care about is what others think of You. For the people in this world need You!
Jesus, stir me up to be willing to do whatever is needed to play the part that You have given me for You to enjoy the full reward of all that You purchased by Your blood. Make me a man who is jealous for Your glory, one who would rather die than You name be disgraced and dishonored. Bring me to the place where Christ is all that matters. Help me to come to the place where I love You infinitely more than I do this life that You have given. Enable me by the Spirit to die to myself so that You may live Your resurrected life through me. Amen!
*(His condescension, His incarnation, His sinless life of obedience, His death on the cross for the sins of the world, His resurrection from the dead to give new and eternal life to all who trust in Him, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, the sending of the Holy Spirit so that people can live for and partner with Him, and His returning to make everything new)
