Holy Father, in Jesus' name, o how You are needed by so many in this neighborhood, city, county, state, nation, and world. My heart breaks when I see and hear of the things that are happening all around. Jesus, I am asking as only You can to comfort families in the midst of tragedies. to bring peace in the midst of chaos and confusion, hope in the midst of despair and hopelessness, and life even in the face of death. In this hour the evil one is constantly planting his seeds of destruction and devastation in the hearts and minds of people for he knows that his time is short. So God I pray that when the enemy comes in like a flood that the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
Jesus, send Your people filled with Your Spirit to minister the life of Jesus to those who feel like they do not have a reason for living. Help those of us who know You to not allow our personal circumstances, hardships, and situations to keep us from being focused on You and Your mission. Live Your resurrected life to, in, and through us and use us to continue Your compassionate ministry to the multitudes who are helpless and harassed without a shepherd. For the harvest is indeed plentiful and the laborers are few. Send us out to reap the fields that white and ready to be harvested.
God, I am asking You to help Your children to love one another as Jesus has loved us. Forgive us for highlighting our differences of opinions on secondary issues to cause us to form camps within the body of Christ that are often committed to show others the error of their ways. God, would You help Your people to walk worthy of the gospel and and live out our unity in Christ. Align our hearts with Yours and Your will and cause us to delight in You as You grant us the desires of our heart.
Jesus, may our greatest desire be You and what You desire: for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Give us Your heart to see lost souls won into Your Kingdom by the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. May the love of Christ compel us to take Jesus to the broken, hurting, lost, and spiritually dead in our neighborhoods and to the nations. Jesus, break our hearts with what breaks Yours and give us Your burden.
Jesus, may You have the preeminence in all things as You help us to be focused on You at all times. No matter the conversations or topics that we are invited into may we always be ready to bear witness for You. Give us the wisdom and grace to help others to see their desperate need of You. May it not be important to us to become experts in worldly matters but to be known as a people who have been with Jesus. Do not let us acquire knowledge in worldly matters just for the sake of knowledge, to make a living, or even to better our careers. Let us use everything that we know to build bridges and relationships to lead others to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. For His Words only are the Words of eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen!!!
